Experience

Prior to joining Early Bird Learning, Courtney taught in a Primary Montessori classroom from 2002-2005.  In the summer of 2005, Courtney completed her Primary Montessori Certification at the Institute for Advanced Montessori Studies.  A native of Charlotte, Courtney taught high school English and Reading at Midwood High School after finishing graduate school at Michigan State University.  At Michigan State, Courtney held a graduate assistantship for two years and was responsible for the undergraduate introductory Art History classes for which she held weekly recitations, office hours, and tutoring sessions. 

 

Courtney is a graduate of College of Charleston with a BA in English and Art History.

  • Awarded full-time and half-time Graduate Teaching Assistantships by Department of Art and Art History from Michigan State University (GPA 3.94)

  • Named to Distinguished and Highly Distinguished Lists by College of Charleston for academic achievement

  • Awarded Girardeau Travel Scholarship by College of Charleston’s Art History faculty to be used for research and foreign travel
